Ping pong persuits

the way a cello wanders
like a fading light,
head tumbles onto shoulder,
tiny fingers cradled in a palm,
that there will always be
another story, always cairo
spilling from within
an orthopedics of perception,
cubist movement
in the method-of-a-whole
becomes the pencil
that has drawn
the tracing of her leaf,
creates a sound
which grows into a song,
a fan, a map,
a wizard's twilight cloak
of melting metaphors
and other tendriled grammars,
magic carpet metamorphosis
of maestro-ed multiplicities
zooming-in-and-out
of dandy grass refrains
past mr. maja painting blue
with flutes
whenever
jenna's
baggy
brush
with
bees
becomes
her
famous
soggy
ooosh

it's always interesting to see how these change in the mind when read once, twice, three times silently then again once, twice, three times aloud ... the alliteration is not so obvious when read silently, and not so obvious to pronounce smoothly when reciting.

this is nice:

and reminds me of a wizard not in a traditional cloak but in a spanish cape, [melting metaphors] and crafting words ... and eloquently so.

I agree, this one does not flow as easily, out loud or otherwise...funny that some are birthed so easily and others not...

I like the specific notion of a spanish cape. Your comment reminded me of (the Hallowe'en scene in) a great little sci fi film called Communion (with Christopher Walken).

I should have qualified 'obvious' in reference to reading silently as 'evident/so noticeable (as when read aloud)' and 'obvious' in respects to reading aloud as 'interesting to the ear, if not tricky to pronounce smoothly, for the tongue and lips' - but still very interesting, nonetheless; it's not so much a comment on [the flow] - in fact it's not at all a comment on the flow - as it is the (changing) perception when read aloud.

I appreciate your explanation...this one I 'saw' more than heard when writing it. But for some, like this one, it seems that there should be some secondary sound accompanying the words...in this one, a wandering cello trailing [the tongue and lips] like a shadow, the way children play their hands against a shadow screen

In terms of changing perceptions between internal and external voices, I am too close to it to tell the difference and had not considered this aspect...interesting idea.
