How

seeking
whispers
in stead
of
shouts
along
a philosophical return
to an original resound
within no steeping step
of vertical ascents
nor universal truths
in stretchy strings
but just a roam
towards refrains of thought
along a horizontal slide
across the surface
of a depthofsingularities
praying packs into the middle
of a ritournello
crashing through
a world-becoming
is
just
like
Jessie
jamming ginger twigs
between her toes
while heeling down
the laughing grass
to
dangle
from
a
flouncing
tree

"Of all of us, he is the most happy in a way
because he has no preconceived idea of what
he wants in return for his love. And to love
in such an unpremeditated way is something
that most people have to re-learn after fifty.
Children have it."
(Durell, TAQ)
