"We need to remember that memory is always
active, that memory generates and continuously
renews. It is not that we simply gather memories
as they were. But rather, we reproduce them in
other codes. We reproduce them in other
constructions." (Loris Malaguzzi)

"But as soon as it is recognized that a code is
inseparable from a process of decoding that is
inherent to it, the problem receives a new
formulation. There is no genetics without
'genetic drift'." (D&G, ATP)

Very interesting conection between these two works. perhaps it is as I suspect that Loris Malaguzzi has a structualist background. I would love to see the universtiy curriculum that he worked from. But everything isn't on the net yet. Any way there is a great understanding between the french continental philosophy and contemporary teaching practices. As we see in Donald Schön's "The Reflective Practitioner"
and other works by him.

"Though I would not be so bold as to think I could understand the essence of creativity, I am curious enough to spy on it whenever I can." (Paul Klee)
