Atonal Dissonances

jimmy jumps,
one-handed leaps
on windowed seats
and sunny halos
glowing in his hair,
holding hot air captive
in a giant red balloon
while wondering
what it's like in there,
sardonic smiles,
tiny fingers
slowly setting free
a little bit
until it sssssqueaks
and squiggles its way out
to prove
that he is making science
when it bobs-and-floats

in fact,
the room is filled
with his commands
and science
is three paper strips
attached by tape and glue
to serious expressions,
or more precisely,
he is busy
getting ready
for the Launch
with alpha-male countdowns,
testing stretchy-plastic helicopters,
paper spiderman propellers
that he designed himself

and after this experiment,
he is planning an excursion
with a map,
with Cowboy Piano Jack,
who carries keyboards
on his back
and rides a trusty horse
named Faye,
who also knows
some cows
in love with music
by the way,
til both discover
a yellow-honeyed bumblebee
stiffly sleeping
on the ground
beside a leaf
which of course
becomes a quest
to find
the crispy cure
for death

meanwhile,
jimmy
is
absolutely
certain
that
this
is
not
a
poem

"Theorum Eight: one assemblage
does not have the same forces or even
speeds of deterritorialization as another;
in each instance, the indices and coefficients
must be calculated according to the block
of becoming under consideration, and in
relation to the mutations of an abstract
machine (for example, there is a certain
slowness, a certain viscosity, of painting
in relation to music; but one cannot draw
a symbolic boundary between the human
being and animal. One can only calculate
and compare powers of deterritorialization)."
